El Capitan shutting off USB power on MacBook Pro?

Since upgrading my Early 2015 13" Retina MacBook Pro to El Capitan from Yosemite, I have noticed that it shuts off power to the USB ports when it's asleep. I know for 100% certain it didn't use to do this, as I travel constantly for work and use my MBP as a convenient charging hub in hotels. Plug everything in, go to sleep, wake up and everything is ready for the day's meetings/flights.

Since updating on Wednesday, this isn't happening. I'll plug all my devices in and they will get a little top-up, but in the morning the MBP is fully charged and my Watch/iPhone/iPad/whatever are run completely down instead of fully charged.

I have already done an SMC reset. Anyone else seeing this or have any suggestions?

I noticed it already when using the Beta.

left comment on it to Apple.

probs for charging external devices as well as power feeding for external gear.

Stopped using it, and returned to Yosemite.

hoped it was solved in el capitan...

still a lot of probs. if you are using Logic, don't upgrade!

meanwhile, while upgraded, lots of problems to restore Yosemite from backup.

so be very sure if you do want to upgrade... there's no Yosemite 10.10.5 link to downgrade anymore

Having the same problem as well.

What a frustrating experience.

El Capitan is the first Mac OS X upgrade that I consider to be worse than the OSs that came before.

So many bug, so many features taken away... Apple is slowly becoming a terrible company like its competitors. They are catching up, if not surpassed.

Every new update since SJ death shows signs of unfinished and not so grade upgrades.

Same thing also applies to the Buggy and terrible upgrade for the iOS as well.

But coming back to the subject, my USB port also stops charging after it goes to sleep with the lit closed. Sometimes it comes back charging, but stops a little after. What a terrible experience to wake up and see all your devices with low battery level.

I find it beyond comprehension for a company so big and with so many know-how accumulated, money and talented minds to release a "finished" product with such an amateur bug. Seriously, this is a more than 15 years old OS, you would at least expect a company like this to keep the USB driver working after all, right? What a joke.

So I use the option in power preferences to "prevent the computer from sleeping with display off" then I set a corner of the screen so that when I move my mouse there it turns off the display. So the computer stays on but the display is off. You can also set the display to turn off after a while. This doesn't fix the issue but allows you to charge with the display open but off. I am sure Applewill address this in an update.
